Now, where were we...

March 24, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. EDT.
Since this blog went on hiatus four months ago, spring has come and gone, and summer has provided us with the familiar heat and pop-up thunderstorms here in Atlanta. But we also experienced a freak tornado that hit the city on March 14. As a result many windows were blown out of downtown skyscrapers.

Earlier this year I posted a photo of the Westin Peachtree Hotel taken from John Howell Park in Virginia-Highland at 10:15 a.m. on March 24, 2007. Exactly 365 days later I returned to that spot at the same time of day to snap a photo from practically the same angle. You can see the damage, as well as other subtle differences in the scene. All in all, after a long drought and a tornado, Atlanta was looking a little worse for the wear at the start of Spring 2008.
